Personal Life
Sooo first off I go by Juss because I hate my full name. I live in Coatesville, it’s terrible. I grew up playing in the dirt and melting Barbie’s face with a magnifying glass or shooting at her with a BB gun. This probably lead to my love for hunting and target shooting. Although I hunt, I’m also an animal lover. I’m pretty sure I’m going to need to buy a farm for all the animals I want. For now, I have a 3 year old German Shepherd named Grizzly. He’s my world and anyone who puts the breed down can kiss my ass! I have a boyfriend, Scotty. We’ve been together for a couple years, but have been friends since freshman year of college. When we’re not walking the dog or taking him for a car ride, Scotty and I enjoy going for long cruises on the Harley. My goal after finishing the MFA program is to get my own and learn to ride. A strange hobby of mine is line dancing. I started when I was in 8th grade. Saturday nights were made for honky tonkin’. (Well… they used to be! Now they are for homework and catching up on work emails.) This hobby is a direct result of my love for country music. And not the crap that’s on the radio now. I’m sorry but Taylor Swift and Rascal Flatts will never be Loretta Lynn or Alabama.

Design Life
I started college at Kutztown as a CD major. After realizing that all I did was party every night, I knew I had to leave before my liver fell out. I transferred to Pennsylvania College of Art and Design. I graduated from PCAD in 2011. I focused heavily on print as an undergrad and fell in love with printmaking. I went as far as building a portable t-shirt press out of scrap wood. I have almost 5 years of experience as an in-house designer. I worked for Morex Ribbon in York, PA for 3 years. In this position, I designed and maintained their corporate and retail websites, took product photography, created printed sales material (flyers, posters, catalogs, store signage etc.), managed their social media/e-mail marketing campaigns, took care of the sample cards and supervised home workers. I also designed a lot printed ribbons for Michael’s and AC Moore. I worked on the redesign of AC Moore’s ribbon section (spool design, overhead signage, shelf strips etc) right before I left. Currently, I work for A. Duie Pyle, a trucking company based out of West Chester, PA. My taskes here have been/are re-designed the corporate and online account management websites, update web graphics, create/manage landing pages, design recruitment/sales materials (trade show booth, flyers, brochures, posters etc.), organize and layout presentations, social media and e-mail marketing, and to photograph business assets. I decided to go back to Kutztown for my MFA because I want to grow more as a designer. I also would like learn some of the things I did not in undergrad. Being able to teach is an added bonus as well… Who wouldn’t love to have off in the summer?
