Data Vis Progress – Week 6

After FINALLY getting data, I found out that I would not be able to execute on my original vision. I could only pull 1,000 Tweets per day. For some of my search time this gave a full day, for others it only gave me a few hours worth of data. No matter what I tried and what the internet said could be done, I was not able to pull the rest of the data from the day.

I also found out that I could not change the axis of the chart to text, they had to be a numbers. This week turned into a complete mess…

After much deliberation, I was able to figure something else out and just use what data I had.  I used the y-axis as the time of day and the x-axis for the number of Tweets. The radius of the bubbles is a special mathematical equation that I developed to be somewhat of a scale of the number of Tweets as well. The data I used was for 1 day, 10/5. The chart has turned out to look much lamer than I thought… Apparently people just really like to Tweet about Coca Cola and no other soda.
